Spyros Angelopoulos is a Professor and co-Director of the research Centre for Strategy, Technological Innovation, and Operations (CSTIO) at Durham University Business School, in the UK. Before joining Durham University, Spyros held academic appointments at Tilburg University in the Netherlands, the University of Lugano in Switzerland, and the University of Nottingham in the UK. His research focuses on user behavior on digital platforms, organizational adaptation during digital transformation, and on security and privacy issues of digital platforms. He has organized tracks at AIS conferences such as the ECIS 2024 and MCIS 2023 and was co-Chair of the UKAIS 2024 conference. He has received the best reviewer award at ECIS 2022, and best AE award at ECIS 2023. He has served as Guest Editor in special issues at the Journal of Operations Management and the Journal of the Association for Information Systems. He is Associate Editor at the International Journal of Information Management, and Senior Editor at the Information Systems Frontiers. He has been selected as ‘Faculty Expert’ by Google.
Michel Avital

Michel Avital is a professor of digitalization at Copenhagen Business School. Michel is an advocate of openness, cross-boundary exchange, and collaboration. He has published over 100 articles on how emergent technologies are developed, applied, managed, and used to transform and shape organizations. Michel is a senior editor and editorial board member for leading IS journals and serves in various organizing capacities at conferences on digital technology. Among others, he served as Conference Chair for ECIS 2024, Program Chair for ECIS 2014, Doctoral Consortium Chair for ECIS 2013, 2020, 2021, Junior Faculty Consortium Mentor for ICIS 2013, 2018, ECIS 2016, 2018, and in numerous appointments of track chair, track associate editor, program committee member, and faculty mentor. Furthermore, Michel is also a member of the Standing Committee of AIS Region 2 and a recipient of the AIS Fellow Award.
Atty Mashatan

Atty Mashatan is a Canada Research Chair, Associate Professor of Information Technology Management and founding director of the Cybersecurity Research Lab at the Toronto Metropolitan University. Her research contributes to the understanding of quantum and other emerging technologies in the context of enterprise cybersecurity and resilience. Since 2016, she has led a multidisciplinary program of research with a team of partners from the public, finance, technology, consulting, and energy sectors, to investigate the challenges and opportunities brought forward by quantum computing. She is a member of Canada’s National Quantum Advisory Council providing impartial advice to the Government of Canada and monitoring the progress of Canada’s National Quantum Strategy. She is a member of the Editorial Board for the Computer & Security Journal and Steering Committee Chair of the Blockchain Technology Symposium, a pan Canadian annual conference. She serves as a Director and Board Member for Compute Ontario and Rogers Cybersecure Catalyst since 2019.
As organizations adopt digital technologies to remain competitive, integrating quantum computing into the prevailing technological and business ecosystems has become a critical research area. The integration of quantum computing with distributed ledger technology (DLT), artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and the cloud introduces new opportunities for scalability, efficiency, and access to computing resources. Organizations across industries can leverage such synergies to drive innovation, enhance flexibility, and optimize operations.
This convergence, however, also presents challenges that have the potential to disrupt industries such as finance, healthcare, and national defence. Understanding and addressing these challenges is essential to grasping the broader implications of quantum computing on technological, organizational, and societal landscapes.
Quantum computing also demands new approaches to information systems development in research and practice. This track explores the nascent role of quantum computing in reshaping Information Systems theories and business practices. We invite papers that examine the implications of quantum computing for Information Systems research, business and society. We welcome theoretical, empirical, and design-oriented contributions across various levels of analysis, including individual, organizational, market, and societal perspectives.

The chairs of the proposed track will explore ex post publishing opportunities for high-potential submissions, including the possibility of curating a special issue in a leading journal.
